Research shows that the most significant factor in improving schools is the quality of teaching. Clearly there are lots of other important aspects to a school’s work but ultimately children deserve to be taught well and no school can reach its potential without quality teachers.
So as I enter my ninth year of Headship recruiting quality teachers I know it is a priority. So I was thrilled on Tuesday to welcome potential trainee teachers in Mathematics who will be joining Birmingham City University. We have a close connection with BCU where we get the benefit of hosting and training some of their teachers, even employing them. We have some fantastic Maths teacher now because of the BCU link. So as I get ready for the sunny weekend all is good at Erdington Academy.
