Proud to be an FMAT Academy

Headteacher’s Blog – 26th January 2018

One of the highlights this week has been the Parent Forum on Tuesday evening. The idea of Parent Forum is for parents and carers to give feedback to school leaders and to share ideas for further improving the academy.

We had good attendance on Tuesday (everyone is invited), starting with food samples from the new canteen, also many parents visited the newly finished canteen at the end of the meeting.

A highlight of the evening was a presentation about ‘Maths Mastery’ from Mr Shergill (Associate Assistant Headteacher – Mathematics). The ‘Maths Mastery’ programme is a programme that make maths fun and engaging whilst encouraging deep thinking. Parents enjoyed hearing about the programme and the exciting developments in Maths at Erdington.

Parents are also going to give us some feedback on a trial feedback and marking policy and continue to give us feedback on our communication between home and school.

Thank you to all who came along; we hope to see even more there next time.

Mr M Rhatigan (Head of Academy)
