Proud to be an FMAT Academy

Headteacher’s Blog – 23rd March 2018

Erdington academy has become a hive of activity this week with Charity week taking place.  The students have worked exceptionally hard organising events to raise money for their chosen charity which they vote for each year.

Sherwood House have been raising money for Macmillan cancer support by organising events which have included a penalty shootout, a basketball challenge and a sponsored silence.

Dean House have been raising money for the Red Cross by holding a cake sale, a raffle ticket sale and guessing how many sweets are in a jar.

Mercia House are supporting UNICEF and they have sold samosas, donuts and Guess the Name of the Bear.

Arden House have been raising money for the British Heart Foundation and they have organised events including a Cross Bar challenge, a cake sale and a ball tricks challenge.

All students have taken part in the sponsored Comic Relief Mile during their PE lessons this week and Sport Relief wristband have been on sale.

To end the week the students and staff have taken part in Sports Relief and by donating £1.00 to participate in a non uniform day we hope to raise £1,000.

It is inspiring to see how the young people have worked so hard to support their chosen charities.
